We are a  bespoke wilderness experience centre in the Blue Mountains and now taking applications for job seekers for the following positions.  

 

1.  Casual Horse Riding Guides plus School Holiday and/or Weekend workers

2.  Lodge staff

3.  Farm/Field Staff

Position 1 : Casual Riding Guide.

 

The Centre has around 50 horses ranging from  miniatures ponies through to large Clydesdales. The trail riding centre undertakes hourly, 1/2 day full day and adventure rides and our customers range from children through to corporate riders.

Applicants must be capable of undertaking general operations of the riding centre with an ability to look after guests and customers and their needs.  Must be outgoing, enjoy working with people fastidious, well presented.  riding includes weekend and public holidays. This is a rewarding and enjoyable position for people who enjoy the outdoors.

  • Good level of experience required and must be able to demonstrate excellent horse handling skills.

  • Must be safety conscious, ability to instruct guests of all ages.

  • Riding program includes trail rides, half and all day outings.

  • Proficient knowledge of horses and veterinary medicine.

  • Must be able to treat any common equine ailments.

  • Riding on a daily basis

Travelling persons on working holiday visas may apply, but there are minimum stays required. 

Will accept 2nd year visa travelers.

Applicants should be able to have not only good husbandry skills with horses, but a genuine love for them and ensuring their environment is clean and well maintained.

Other Tasks

It also entails primarily looking after the horses, but also property, gardens and animals - poultry, pigs, sheep, ponies.   The applicant would need to have good husbandry skills, and a genuine love for the animals and their well being. The proposal would suit someone who likes to work on the land, enjoy people and showing others the aspects of country living - (but no dreamers please.. animals need doers not dreamers).

It is essential that you would need to have a good eye for neatness and presentation plus be conscientious and committed.

We are seeking someone who can work in the horse area, which is designed to show the very best of the Australian countryside.  The position would suit someone with enthusiasm for country style living and really enjoy meeting with new people. 

The  Centre is currently in the process of creating the “Paddock to Plate Bush Farm”. We endeavor to demonstrate the basic farming practices which involves sustainable agricultural and environmental principles, so the applicant should  be able to work in the vegetable gardens and tree nurseries etc, in quiet times.

The applicant would need to have demonstrable knowledge of  horses and care for animals, be able to drive and undertake the general duties associated with a guest ranch. 

If accommodation is required the job offers basic accommodation in staff quarters in single room. Work entails weekends with 2 days off per midweek.

Our office hours are 8.00am to 5pm.

On Tuesday and Wednesday the admin staff  frequently

are not in the office area, but elsewhere on the Farm,

   Position 2.  Lodge staff.   Rural Retreat  & Hospitality Staff 

Tired of the City Life?   Staff is required for our venue in the Blue Mountains  to help deliver that WOW experience. We have a guesthouse set in the beautiful Megalong Valley that  is setting itself up to be the premier WOW Wilderness centre for NSW. We have the infrastructure in place, but will need to grow slowly, so initially we have a job for the weekends with options of extending.

So if you want to be part of delivering something sensational for our  wilderness guest lodge and can cook and host in a rural setting then this is for you.

Reporting to the General Manager, your main responsibility will be to deliver the  range of  experiences in the hospitality area and provide support to various other  divisions ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the venue.

You will have:

  Position 3.   Farm/Field Hand

We  currently have an opening for a experienced farmworker to help with the general running of the farm.  This is a 2000 acre premier property that is currently engaging in a new organic Paddock to Plate permaculture  project to compliment our existing infrastructure.

The job entails looking after the property, gardens and animals - horses, poultry, pigs, sheep &  ponies, 

We have a lot of horses that need feeding twice a day, plus the other general livestock such as poultry, pigs, etc; general farmwork such as vegetable gardens, repairs, fence  and property maintenance.  Building skills would be an advantage.

Must desire to work diligently indoors and outdoors on a variety of tasks which may include grounds care, garbage patrol, vehicle cleaning,  minor building repairs,  vehicle & tractor maintenance, chopping wood,  repairing and installing new fencing, assisting and working in any department as needed.

Applicants should be able to have not only good husbandry skills with livestock, but a genuine love for them and ensuring their environment is clean and well maintained.

We are endeavoring to demonstrate  basic organic farming practices and sustainable agricultural and environmental principles, so the applicant would have to be able to implement and maintain vegetable gardens and tree nurseries etc.

The applicant would need to have demonstrable knowledge of  animals, be able to drive agricultural machinery, general property maintenance skills and undertake the heritage vegetable gardening.

The position would suit someone who likes to work on the land, enjoy people and showing others the enviable aspects of country living .
